The Super HMC UV and Skylight camera filters are not a thin filter, only the Hoya Super HMC Circular polarizer is a thin camera filter because of the removal of the front filter threads. These filters are most commonly referred to as SMC filters meaning Super Multi Coated. Hoya Pro 1 Digital Camera Filters are a thin 3mm ring filter with front filter threads, except for the circular polarizer which has a 5mm ring. All the Hoya Pro 1 Digital Filters are multi coated. Hoya HMC filters are a 5mm ring camera filter with front threads except the circular polarizer which is a 8mm ring.
